ANNOUNCEMENTS:      02/17/17 B DAY

Attention Seniors:  Sullivan Community Council (SCC) is awarding monetary scholarships to at least one deserving senior male and female who has been actively involved in SCC programs over the past 5 years.  Scholarship applications can be picked up in the counseling center and must be submitted by May 5.  See Mrs. Smith in room 224 with questions.
  
Students in Spanish 3 through 5 are invited to join the Spanish Honor Society, Friday March 10 at Spanish Night at the Syracuse Crunch.5Tickets are $15.00 and the deadline is Friday, February 17. See Miss Gates for more details.
 
To all current freshmen interested in playing JV Football next fall: On Tuesday, February 28 after Winter Break, we will have a meeting and clinic that will begin in Mr. Cashman's room starting at 3pm.  We will discuss character and academics, hold a weight lifting clinic, and we will finish with general formations and terminology instruction in the small gym, finishing no later than 4:45pm.  At this meeting, dates for off-season workouts and clinics will be also be provided.  If interested and available, please be certain to attend.  
 
 
Thanks to all the bakers, consumers and judges who participated in yesterdays cookie cook off.  Award winners were Mrs. Murphy for her spectacular red velvet whoopie pies, Ms. Muller for her stunning peanut butter cup treats and Mrs. Klucznik for her sensational sweetheart cupcakes.  Hannah Butler took home the student baking prize for her crowd wowwing chocolate whoopie pies.  Over 50 dollars was donated to the Ronald McDonald house and will go to help families in need of your support.  Congratulations to the winners and special thanks to our other bakers for their delicious delectables as well.  Have a great winter break ! Counseling Center:


An SAT prep class sponsored by Onondaga Community college will be held at Chittenango High School on Sundays from 1 – 4 pm.  The class will start on          March 12 and run through April 30 with no classes over April break.  The SAT class will allow you to prepare for the May SAT.  It will focus on Reading/Writing and Math.   Any Juniors interested in taking the class should pick up a registration form  in the counseling center or call498-6000 for information.


Athletics:

 
There will be a boys outdoor track meeting on Monday, February 27 in room 114. The team is trying to win a sectional championship this spring and is looking for a few more athletes who want to get faster and stronger.   If you have and questions please see Coach Muller in room 114.
 
School/Sports Physical Exams will take place on March 1st at 8:30 in the Nurses office.  If you are interested please sign up in the nurses office by February 17th.
 
The Chittenango Boys Basketball team opens up its sectional run tonight at 7:30pm against Pulaski in the Bears Den.  There will also be a senior night ceremony at 7pm. Mr. Clancy and the basketball program would like to thank Brennan Buyea,  Andrew Larsson, Clayton Chandle, Brendan Voutsinas and Hunter Hendrix for their dedication to the program and more importantly being terrific role models and young men.
 
Open gym for Girls Lacrosse this Sunday, February 19th at the high school from 11:00 – 12:30.
